Nursery School
We provide a holistic play enviroment, where the staff understand that a child's work is play. We therefore ensure that all early years education is provided through play while following the governments Early Learning Goals. We provide extensive play facilities and a wide syllabus of pre-school education.
A structured programme of varied activities is offered, geared to meet the needs of each individual child.
We allow parents freedom to pursue their careers with peace of mind, secure in the knowledge that their children are happy, well-cared for and receiving pre-school education of the highest quality.
Each child leaves Pooh Corner Day Nursery with carefully planned, well-balanced experiences in readiness for entrance to infant school.
Children in this age group enjoy the use of three rooms:
The Play Room
The play room is a spacious room offering opportunities for imaginative, physical, constructive and manipulative play. Music sessions are also conducted in this room.
The Quiet Room
In this room quieter activities are encouraged, comfortable space is provided for using jigsaw puzzles, looking at a range of books and imaginative play. We find this is an ideal room for younger children who have recently started at our nursery.
The Creative Room
The creative room offers play facilities including natural and creative materials, sand and water, clay and paints, with cooking and woodwork sessions.
Babies & Toddlers
For babies and toddlers we provide a high ratio of qualified staff including those skilled in caring for the very young. We believe this facilitates the one-to-one individual attention and care that is required to feed, cuddle and stimulate the very young.
We aim to develop the individual personality of each toddler, building their confidence and preparing them for nursery shool.
The Toddler Room
This room offers opportunities for toddlers to be creative and take part in imaginative and constructive play. Activities include sand and water play, painting, building and construction games, physical activities, reading and music.
The Baby Room
In this room young babies and infants are encouraged to discover and explore their five senses whilst learning to coordinate their movements.
The Sleep Room
The Sleep Room is a quiet, cosy room, conducive to sleep.
