Pooh Corner Day Nursery founded in 1990 is situated in a large victorian house with spacious outdoor facilities. Mary Regan and Sarah Bradley lead an experienced team of four senior staff and a full complement of qualified nursery staff. The lower ground floor has been especially adapted to care for babies and toddlers under two and the ground floor nursery school is fully equipped to meet the needs of pre-school children.
Care, independence and security
Pooh Corner Day Nursery can fulfill the needs of your children from three months to five years old. We aim to extend children's experience, promote self esteem and encourage respect for others. Although the atmosphere is informal and homely, there is structure and control. Whilst we encourage independence, we also give plenty of comforting cuddles.

General Information
When your child starts attending Pooh Corner Day Nursery, he or she will be assigned to a member of staff who will look after all their needs during their days with us. This system gives your child a strong link with one person from which other relationships can grow and it offers you a point of contact with someone who knows your child really well.
The settling-in period depends largely on the nature and prior experience of the child, and will normally consist of several short introductory visits, leading to gradually extended sessions, in order to build up confidence and familiarise the child with his/her new enviroment. No charge is made for introductory visits.
We encourage parents to be involved in the Nursery and there are daily opportunities for informal discussion. To give us all the chance to meet socially and to allow time for in-depth discussions, we hold parents' evenings twice a year. Between meetings we will keep you up-to-date with newsletters concerning any formal matters.
We always encourage good behaviour in all children. Pooh Corner Day Nursery adopts a non-smacking policy.
